HPE Advanced Series Racks

Designed for server rooms to datacenters, the HPE Advanced Series Racks include a fully welded frame and advanced perforated door design. HPE Advanced Series Racks provide durability and cooling capabilities with a streamlined appearance and function. With multiple size, width and depth options, data center managers can choose the right rack for the compute technology and customize the rack solution with accessories to fit their computing environment. The Advanced Series also includes a rear convenience bracket to ease installation of cable management and power distribution and they are fully compatible with HPE Location Discovery Services.

HPE Location Discovery Services
HPE Location Discovery Services is the first solution that merges the physical rack with IT equipment to provide automated location awareness of installed servers for advanced asset management and workload placement.

HPE Advanced and Enterprise Series Racks equipped with the Location Discovery option provide detailed location information to HPE ProLiant servers to track new installations and equipment moves. Upon installation, the server's iLO queries and records the rack identifier as well as the exact U location of the server in the rack. Once the server knows exactly where it is located this information can be forwarded to other systems such as HPE OneView and HPE Insight Control to automatically update new rack configurations. This saves time in configuring hardware and software to manage the data center while eliminating constant manual updates and the associated human errors that can slow resolution to issues and even cause down time and loss of business.

HPE Advanced Series Network Racks
HPE Network Racks are designed for dense network equipment. These racks have the front vertical rails moved back 75 mm to facilitate front to rear cabling and have additional bristle covered cable access slots in the front and on top of the racks to prevent mixing of hot and cold air and to allow for large cable bundles. These racks are available in standard 600 mm and 800 mm widths. The 800 mm wide HPE Network Racks include slotted vertical cable channels on both sides in the rear of the rack.

Industry Standard Support

The HPE Advanced Series Racks are industry standard EIA-310 19 inch RETMA and will support all HPE rack mountable equipment as well as third-party equipment designed to mount in 19-inch wide racks.

Warranty / Service Coverage

HPE Racks are covered by a 3 year limited warranty.

For HPE ProLiant servers and storage systems, the service on the main product covers Hewlett Packard Enterprise branded hardware options, not designated by HPE as requiring separate coverage, that are qualified for the server, are purchased at the same time or afterward, and are internal to the enclosure, as well as Hewlett Packard Enterprise supported and supplied tower UPS products. These items will be covered at the same service level as the main product.

Coverage of the UPS battery is not included; standard warranty terms and conditions apply.

HPE Foundation Care Services

For HPE ProLiant servers and storage systems, the service on the main product covers Hewlett Packard Enterprise branded hardware options not designated by HPE

as requiring separate coverage, that are qualified for the server, are purchased at the same time or afterward, and are internal to the enclosure, as well as Hewlett Packard Enterprise supported and supplied tower UPS products. These items will be covered at the same service level as the main product.

For the BladeSystem enclosures, the service covers the enclosure, power supplies, fans and enclosure devices including pass-thru, Ethernet interconnect and virtual connect modules. For HPE ProLiant servers, storage, or BladeSystem enclosures installed within a rack, service also covers all HPE qualified racks and rack options including UPS products not exceeding 12kVA, KVM switches, consoles and power distribution units installed within the same rack. The UPS battery is covered separately under its own warranty terms and conditions, limited to the term of the applicable warranty period.

Understanding rack weights and loads

HPE Racks are designed to support high capacity weight loads that include the weight of the rack and all the equipment installed. All HPE racks are tested to provide the following maximum weight loads:

• Shipping - rack including shipping packaging and materials.
• Static Load - maximum loaded weight that a rack can support when stationary.
• Dynamic Load (rolling) - maximum loaded weight a rack can support when moved (or rolled).
• Dynamic Load (Shipping/configured) - maximum loaded weight a rack can support when shipped - this includes services such as HPE Factory Express.
• Shipping - Max configured - maximum loaded weight that a rack can support including rack and packaging.

HPE Racks are rated for Static Loads of up to 3000 lb. If you require a rack that can be moved or shipped while fully loaded with equipment, HPE Enterprise Series Racks can support a dynamic load (rolling and configured) weight capacity of up to 3000 lb.
