Product overview

HP IntelliJack Gigabit switches are compact 10/100/1000 switches that can be installed in a standard wall outlet box, quickly converting an existing single-port LAN wall outlet into four switched Gigabit Ethernet ports. These "network jacks" provide a simple solution for adding network ports without running more cabling. Unlike conventional desktop switches, HP IntelliJack devices reside out of the way—literally in-the-wall—and so are more secure from theft and difficult to accidentally disconnect or damage. The innovative HP IntelliJack switches provide four Ethernet ports for local connectivity plus one uplink port. Two additional RJ-45 "pass-through ports" flexibly support a range of additional service and user connectivity options. It can be powered locally or via Power over Ethernet (PoE); certain configurations support output of standard PoE on up to two ports to directly power attached devices such as IP phones or wireless access points.

These switches can be powered by standard 802.3af PoE or by local power adapter. Also, they can be powered by certain pre-standard PoE+ implementations including HP V1910 PoE (JE007A) switches which use Layer 1 "two finger" power signaling.
LLDP PoE+ signaling of the 802.3at standard is not supported. When powered locally or by pre-standard PoE+ from select HP switches, the IntelliJack is capable of forwarding standard 802.3af PoE to up to two attached devices. General protocols supported by the NJ2000G only: IEEE 802.1Q; IEEE 802.1X Port Access Entity; IEEE 802.3ad Link Aggregation (LAG)
