Service and Support for Datera products are provided directly by Datera. For any support and generic queries please email to support@datera.io. Datera licensors service delivery organization will be responsible for responding with a call, assigning a severity level to the call, and determining the service Severity Level acceptable to Hewlett Packard Enterprise customer. The support request will be processed by Datera in accordance with the Severity Level agreed upon.

Warranty

Software

For a period of ninety (90) days from the license date, Datera warrants that the software will operate substantially as set forth in the applicable Datera specification when used in accordance with the terms of the Datera software license on hardware included in the

Datera hardware compatibility list. A customer's exclusive remedy and the entire liability of Datera and its suppliers under this limited warranty will be replacement of the software media. Except for the foregoing, the software is provided AS IS. This limited warranty extends only to the initial customer who purchases from Datera or through a Datera authorized reseller as the original licensee. See other Warranty Limitations and Restrictions below.

Restrictions

Datera's warranties as set forth herein ("Warranty") are contingent on proper use of the Datera software ("Products") on Datera qualified hardware and do not apply if (a) the Products have been modified without the written approval of Datera, (b) the Products are installed on non-qualified hardware,  or (c) the Product is licensed for beta, evaluation, testing or demonstration purposes. The terms of the Warranty are limited to the remedies as set forth in this Warranty. This warranty is provided in lieu of all other rights, conditions and warranties. Datera makes no other express or implied warranty with respect to the software documentation or Datera support, including, without limitation, any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement of third party rights. Datera does not warrant that any products will be error-free, or that any defects that may exist in its products can be corrected. In no event shall Datera be liable for cost of procurement of substitute goods, lost profits or any other special, indirect, consequential or incidental damages (including but not limited to lost data), however caused whether or not Datera has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation or exclusion of liability for consequential or incidental damages, so that limitation or exclusion may not apply.

Return Policy for Resellers

Stocking of Datera licenses are not recommended. Please purchase accurate quantity required to fulfil the customer order.

Parts and Materials

Hewlett Packard Enterprise will provide HPE-supported replacement parts and materials necessary to maintain the covered hardware product in operating condition, including parts and materials for available and recommended engineering improvements. 

Parts and components that have reached their maximum supported lifetime and/or the maximum usage limitations as set forth in the manufacturer's operating manual, product quick-specs, or the technical product data sheet will not be provided, repaired, or replaced as part of these services. 

The defective media retention service feature option applies only to Disk or eligible SSD/Flash Drives replaced by Hewlett Packard Enterprise due to malfunction.

HPE Hardware

Datera SW has been qualified on Specific HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 and ProLiant DL360 Gen10 servers.  When possible to meet the solution requirements, select from the 5 node options listed below.  Otherwise, each Datera node can consist of following storage media - Hybrid, All SATA flash or All NVMe flash.   A minimum of 3 nodes of the same storage media type are needed for the Datera Data Services Platform. Additional nodes (of same or different node/media type) can be added, as needed, for scaling out. Please follow the configuration guidelines provided in this HPE HW configuration document:

Step-2 Select Data Services Platform Software SKU

Datera software is available as Subscription (2a) for a given number of years (or) as a Perpetual (2b) license. Both of these are licensed on per TB of raw capacity (rounded, 0.1 - .4 rounds down, .5 - .9 rounds up).

Step-2a Datera Software per TB Subscription SKU

Datera Software Subscription SKU for a given period includes premium software support & maintenance. The quantity of the selected SKU is the sum total of storage capacity of all nodes in the Datera Data Services Platform in TBs.

NOTE: For Hybrid nodes (which have both HDDs and ~6% of NVMe flash), the SKU quantity to be counted is only the HDD capacity in TBs.

For All SATA Flash or All NVMe Flash nodes, the SKU quantity to be counted is the entire flash capacity in TBs.

Step-2b Datera Software Node-Locked License per TB of raw capacity

Datera Software Node-Locked license continues only for the life of the Certified Platform hardware on which it is originally installed. The license is not portable to new or replacement hardware.  Usage Levels for node-locked licenses are limited to the quantity of raw Terabytes provisioned in the Certified Platform on which the Software is initially installed and  must include recurring annual Support and Maintenance SKU (Step 3) for the same quantity as the node-locked SKU, for a minimum of three (3) years. The quantity of these SKUs is the sum total of storage capacity of all nodes in the Datera Data Services Platform
