License Types

Single

This license type fully activates a single instance of the RGS Sender on any supported computer. A separate license must be installed and managed on each computer.

Floating

Floating licenses allow multiple computers to share a pool of licenses. Computers acting as an RGS Sender can check out a license and check it back in when no longer needed. This license type requires a central computer to manage the licenses. The total number of concurrent RGS Senders is limited by the number of floating licenses purchased.

Single or Floating Upgrade

Upgrade licenses allow users to upgrade from the previous two generations of RGS to RGS7. To qualify for HP RGS 7 upgrade licenses, customers must already own valid HP RGS 6 or 5.4 licenses.

Moonshot Cartridge

The HPE RGS Moonshot m710p Cartridge E-LTU license (P9E50AAE) is very similar to RGS 7 Single E-LTU other than being specifically for Moonshot. This license can also be used for m710x cartridges which were added after the initial SKU was named.

RGS Licensing for Virtual Machines

An RGS license is required for each Virtual Machine running on a server.
