HPE Vertica and Hadoop Optimized Servers

 

HPE has engineered a high performant and cost effective platform for running SQL analytics on top of Hadoop. HPE now provides modern reference architectures featuring scale-out industry-standard hadoop platforms running HPE Vertica for SQL on Hadoop. These servers handle all types of analytical workloads including Data Warehousing (DW), data lakes, data tiering and consolidation of mixed workloads.

With HPE Vertica for SQL on Hadoop running on HPE iron, you can:

  • Take the guesswork out of building optimized systems for your Hadoop analytics with hardware and software that has been proven to perform fast analytics in the most demanding situations.
  • Leverage the power of the ANSI-compliant, enterprise-ready Vertica SQL engine installed directly on the Hadoop cluster with enterprise-class features and no single point of failure
  • Deploy a platform agnostic analytics system that is compatible with all the major distributions of Hadoop, including Hortonworks and Cloudera.

  • Hewlett Packard Enterprise is now offering HPE Vertica for SQL on Hadoop along with Hortonworks Data Platform and Cloudera Enterprise on ProLiant and Apollo servers. The Vertica SKU is offered along with these reference architectures to optimize analytics on Hadoop-based systems.

Licensing and Media Options

Definitions and support licensing model

Vertica for SQL on Hadoop is sold as an annual term license per physical server node using the following SKU.  Support will be provided by the HPE Software organization.

Node means, a server or virtual machine running the software

  • A server is a single piece of hardware that runs the software.  A hardware partition or blade is considered a separate hardware system.
  • A virtual machine is a software container that can run its own operating system and execute applications like a single physical machine

NOTE: Hewlett Packard Enterprise offers email and paper fulfillment. The email part numbers are listed.  The paper part numbers are the same but end with “A” instead of an “AAE”. Email fulfillment ships in days while paper fulfillment ships in weeks.

NOTE: These part numbers can be used to purchase multiple licenses with a single activation key. Customer will receive an emailed entitlement certificate. The license entitlement certificate must be redeemed online in order to obtain a license key.

NOTE: Only one certificate is shipped for multiple-quantities of the same license on a single order.
