The CS750 is the HPE first converged solution based on the HPE Synergy composable architecture, offering the simplicity and peace of mind that comes from a validated stack, and agility and resource optimization derived from a composable architecture.

The offering is highly configurable and is based on a common, scale-out architecture. The CS750 scales from 2 to 252 HPE Synergy 480 compute modules, and up to 40 external HPE 3PAR and/or Nimble storage arrays, as well as offering a variety of networking choices, and multiple storage options. This flexibility gives the power of choice to meet a wide range of requirements. Selection of server, storage and networking components are made at the time of ordering from a number of choices based on validated configurations of HPE Converged Infrastructure components that can be sized and optimized for physical, virtual, or cloud-based application workloads. The CS750 also has an option to include VMware vSphere, vCenter Server, and vRealize software and licensing in the solution (referred to as the HPE Converged System 750 for VMware).

HPE ConvergedSystem 750 software
The HPE ConvergedSystem 750 comes standard with HPE OneView software licenses.

HPE ConvergedSystem 750 for VMware software

The HPE ConvergedSystem 750 for VMware comes standard with HPE OneView software, HPE OneView for VMware vCenter, VMware vSphere 6.5U3 or 6.7U3, VMware vCenter Server 6.5U3 or 6.7U3, HPE OneView for VMware vRealize Operations and VMware vRealize Operations Manager. HPE OneView and VMware software is factory installed for convenience. Microsoft Windows Server 2016 is included on virtual machines that reside on the management nodes provided by Microsoft Windows Server 2016 enabled downgrade licenses for Microsoft Windows Server 2019. VMWare ESXi is installed on the management nodes and workload servers, and customers will need to supply OS licensing for the VMs they deploy.

VMware vSphere

Hewlett Packard Enterprise and VMware together provide powerful integrated solutions for customers who want the confidence of deploying VMware virtualization and cloud software on certified systems with comprehensive services and seamless support. The long-standing partnership between Hewlett Packard Enterprise and VMware, based on over 20 years of collaboration in engineering, sales, and marketing, has resulted in leading market positions and customer successes across a wide range of industries including financial services, health care, telecommunications, manufacturing and the public sector.

VMware vSphere and vCenter are preinstalled on the HPE ConvergedSystem 750 for VMware and necessary licenses are included, unless removed from the order based on an existing customer ELA. For customers that maintain ELAs (Enterprise License Agreements) for VMware software - please inform your sales team that your ConvergedSystem 750 should take advantage of your site license. For a complete Solution Level Support experience from Hewlett Packard Enterprise, customers will need to purchase their VMware licenses from HPE. When purchasing licenses with HPE ConvergedSystem 750 for VMware, one (1) VMware vSphere license per socket is included by default. Please ensure that you meet minimum entitlement requirements for your particular configuration. Additional VMware vSphere licenses can be purchased through Hewlett Packard Enterprise at the time of order.

HPE ConvergedSystem 750 for VMware with the Synergy D3940 Storage Module is a perfect choice for VMware vSAN. A core value proposition of VMware vSAN is that it aggregates all local storage disks - both SSD and HDD - available on the hosts (compute modules) into a single datastore shared by all compute modules to offer a shared storage solution. In order to run VMware vSAN, there are no additional binaries required, however VMware vSAN does require a separate license.

HPE ConvergedSystem 750 for VMware SW/FW Update service

To ensure optimal solution performance and quick time to resolution for support issues, HPE recommends that all customers maintain their SW/FW at the latest recommended recipe level. HPE publishes a SW/FW recipe with prescribed versions for all FW and SW elements. At a minimum a system should be maintained at no more than N-2 versions.

For those customers with the appropriate HW/SW capabilities, HPE publishes a thorough update guide with each recipe release that authorized customers can download from the HPE Support Center and use to perform their own updates.

HPE strongly recommends that customers utilize our existing SW/FW updated services to ensure that your update does not unnecessarily impact your business model.

Warranty services

The HPE ConvergedSystem 750 is covered by a global limited warranty and supported by HPE Services. Proactive Care is the minimum and default offering, providing 24x7 hardware and software support with a 4 hour response service level . Notes: Warranty varies by component. Server Warranty includes 3-Year Parts, 3-Year Labor, 3-Year Onsite support with next business day response. Warranty repairs may be accomplished through the use of Customer Self Repair (CSR) parts. These parts fall into two categories: 1) Mandatory CSR parts are designed for easy replacement. A travel and labor charge will result when customers decline to replace a Mandatory CSR part; 2) Optional CSR parts are also designed for easy replacement but may involve added complexity. The EU WEEE directive (2002/95/EC) requires manufacturers to provide treatment information for each product type for use by treatment facilities. All hardware components are factory integrated and have been localized to US English. ConvergedSystem 750 comes with vSphere, VMware vRealize Operations Manager, and OneView, as well as factory configuration and onsite integration as defaults. - HPE ConvergedSystem 750 always uses blanking panels to fill all remaining empty front panel U-spaces in the rack. This arrangement ensures proper airflow. Using a rack without blanking panels will result in improper cooling that can lead to thermal damage.
