HPE ProLiant Compute EL140 Gen12 QuickSpecs

HPE ProLiant Compute EL140 Gen12 server - Rugged and Powerful

The HPE ProLiant Compute EL140 Gen12 is a multi-workload powerhouse designed to drive your business into the next generation with workload support for virtualized radio access network (vRAN) for 5G, virtual cable modem termination systems (vCMTS), multi-access edge computing, and AI inferencing at the edge.

Rugged Without Compromise

Installed in the HPE ProLiant Compute EL9000 chassis, the HPE ProLiant Compute EL140 Gen12 server enables Telco operators to support up to 2X the number of users per server over previous generations with enough cores and memory left over to add multi-tenancy workloads such as the HPE Juniper Cloud Native Router. Powered by the Intel Xeon 6 SoC with integrated AI acceleration including Intel vRAN Boost and Intel Advanced Matrix Extensions (AMX), the HPE ProLiant Compute EL140 Gen12 provides a high-performance system optimized for rugged environments. Designed to exceed the rigorous NEBS Level 3 compliance standard and GR-3108 Class 1, the EL140 is efficiently optimized for size, weight, and power with an operating temperature range of 0°C to 55°C.

Designed with TCO in Mind

With support for up to 24 network ports and 72 cores, Telco operators can consolidate vRAN servers up to 2:1, cutting capital hardware expenditures in half. Because the EL140 Gen12 provides enough processing power and memory to support multi-tenancy, a virtual cell site router can be deployed in conjunction with the fronthaul traffic workload to eliminate the need for a standalone cell site router. This reduces not only hardware purchase costs but hardware maintenance costs as well. Integration of the Digital Phase Locked Loop (DPLL) timing and Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) navigation modules provides a more cost-effective solution for timing holdover and location support than purchasing specialized NICs as in previous generations.

Enhanced Manageability and Security at the Edge

HPE ProLiant Compute EL140 Gen12, with HPE iLO 7 and Silicon Root of Trust, mitigates risk in mission-critical edge environments. With reduced IT skillsets in an increasingly vast edge environment, HPE manageability systems improve the ability to configure, monitor, and update your system from any location. By leveraging iLO 7 capability, managing your system with health monitoring and firmware management is easy. The Solid-State Drives are TCG Opal Compliant Self-Encrypting Drives (SED).
