Continuous data protection

Continuously and seamlessly protect your workloads and reduce time spent with array replication and backup windows, tweaking schedules, managing snapshot chains, or wrangling a mess of agents. You set it up and replicate, and HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery always stays on to keep your business running uninterrupted 24/7. 

Journal-based recovery

Every change made is automatically written into a journal with a granularity of seconds so that you can rewind to a point in time seconds before an incident.  

Application consistency

Quickly and consistently recover multi-VM applications as one entity to accelerate your RTOs. Create Protection Groups inside HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery to enable grouping and tiering of VMs and ensure consistent recovery point objectives (RPOs) across all your grouped machines.

Due to write-order fidelity across entire multi-VM application stacks, Protection Groups can be recovered as a single entity in the event of a disaster. 

Non-disruptive testing

Validate recoverability, perform a migration dry-run, or test against production replicas, all with no impact on production or protection.

Multi-Site Control

HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery, part of the Data Services Cloud Console applications, enables disaster recovery to be managed from anywhere, simplifying operations and consolidating data protection management at multiple locations.

On-Premises Component Control

HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery orchestrates Virtual Management Appliances (VMAs) and Virtual Replication Appliances (VRA). These are deployed as needed, based on protected hosts and sites, and sized for the required recovery points and performance.

Straightforward Subscription Pricing

There are no surprise bills or expenses with HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery. You can purchase an upper limit of VMs to protect anytime and choose a term from 1, 3, or 5 years. For example, you can purchase "up to" 25 virtual machines for three years, allowing you to add up to 25 VMs to Protection Groups under the control of HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery and operate the service for three years.

Data Services Cloud Console

HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery runs within the HPE Data Services Cloud Console (DSCC) on the GreenLake Edge to Cloud Platform. DSCC hosts other services for data and infrastructure management that offer complementary functionality. These services enable customers to automate data infrastructure management and data protection at cloud speed and scale from a single console.

Data Services Cloud Console is built on a cloud platform that is:

• Built on proven technology, which today serves 90,000 customers and millions of end devices connected to clusters deployed worldwide.
• Secure by design to ensure the secure management of global infrastructure and data services with multilevel advanced security capabilities that include encrypted connectivity to assets through certificates and tunnels, multifactor authentication, auditing, and role-based access control policies.
• Cloud-native, based on an architecture of microservices and workflows, enables rapid development, deployment, and scaling of new services with consistent user experience.

Startup and Configuration

Here is a high-level summary of the steps to get HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery operational: 

1. Log into the HPE GreenLake portal https://common.cloud.hpe.com/home

2. Add the service subscription using the HPE GreenLake Subscription tile (under Device Subscriptions).

3. Verify that the built-in roles are sufficient or create custom roles to enable user access to HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery.

4. Launch the Data Services Cloud Console in the required region.

5. Select 'Launch' from HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery tile.

Before Azure Virtual Manager Appliances (VMAs) can be added to the Disaster Recovery service, you must first deploy the Azure Cloud Appliance (Zerto Linux ZCA - BYOL) from the Azure Marketplace.
