Processor specifications

The PowerEdge R430 system supports up to two Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 or Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4 product family processors.

PSU specifications

The PowerEdge R430 system supports up to two AC redundant power supply units (PSUs) and a single AC cabled PSU.

PSU specificationsFor 550 W AC, platinum power supply unit, the maximum heat dissipation is 2107 BTU/hr, frequency is 50/60 Hz, and voltage range is 100­240 V AC autoranging and the current rating is between 7.4 A-3.7 A. For 450 W AC Bronze PSU, the maximum heat dissipation is 1871 BTU/hr, frequency is 50/60 Hz, and voltage range is 100­240 V AC autoranging and the current rating is between 605 A-3.5 A.

System battery specifications

The PowerEdge R430 system supports 3 V CR2032 Lithium coin cell system battery.

Expansion bus specifications

The PowerEdge R430 system supports PCI express (PCIe) Generation 2 and 3 expansion cards, which need to be installed on the system board using expansion card risers. This system supports two types of expansion card risers. The following table provides the expansion card riser specifications:

Memory specifications

The PowerEdge R430 system supports DDR4 registered DIMMs (RDIMMs) and load-reduced DIMMs (LRDIMMs). Supported memory bus frequencies are 1866 MT/s, 2133MT/s, or 2400 MT/s.

The system supports RDIMMs of memory capacity 4 GB or 8 GB single rank, and RDIMMs of memory capacity 8 GB, 16 GB, or 32 GB dual rank. For system with single processor, the minimum RAM is 4 GB and the maximum RAM is up to 256 GB. For system with dual processor, the minimum RAM is 8 GB (minimum one memory module per processor) and the maximum RAM is up to 384 GB.

Optical drive

The PowerEdge R430 system supports:

  • USB 3.0-complaint and USB 2.0-compliant ports on the back panel

NIC ports

The PowerEdge R430 system supports four 10/100/1000 Mbps Network Interface Controller (NIC) ports on the back panel.

Serial connector

The serial connector connects a serial device to the system. The PowerEdge R430 system supports one serial connector on the back panel, which is a 9-pin connector, Data Terminal Equipment (DTE), 16550-compliant.

VGA ports

The Video Graphic Array (VGA) port enables you to connect the system to a VGA display. The PowerEdge R430 system supports two 15-pin VGA ports one each on the front and back panels.

Internal Dual SD Module

The PowerEdge R430 system supports two optional flash memory card slots with an internal dual SD module.
NOTE One card slot is dedicated for redundancy.

Video specifications

The PowerEdge R430 system supports Matrox G200 graphics card with 16 MB capacity.

Environmental specifications

Temperature specificationsWhen the system is in continuous operation (for altitude less than 950 m or 3117 ft), the temperature specification ranges from 10°C to 35°C (50°F to 95°F) with no direct sunlight on the equipment. NOTE: Maximum of 145 W 22 core processor is supported in systems with eight 2.5-inches drives, two PCI slot chassis, and 75 W single wide active GPU. When the system is not in operation, the temperature specification is –40°C to 65°C (–40°F to 149°F). The Maximum temperature gradient for both operation and non-operational systems is 20°C/h (36°F/h).

Operating temperature de-rating specificationsIf the operating temerature of a system is up to 35 °C (95 °F), the maximum temperature is reduced by 1 °C/300 m (1 °F/547 ft) above 950 m (3,117 ft). If the operating temperature of a system ranges from 35 °C to 40 °C (95 °F to 104 °F), the maximum temperature is reduced by 1 °C/175 m (1 °F/319 ft) above 950 m (3,117 ft). If the operating temperature of a system ranges from 40 °C to 45 °C (104 °F to 113 °F), the maximum temperature is reduced by 1 °C/125 m (1 °F/228 ft) above 950 m (3,117 ft).

Particulate and gaseous contamination specifications

The following table defines the limitations that help avoid any equipment damage or failure from particulates and gaseous contamination. If the levels of particulates or gaseous pollution exceed the specified limitations and result in equipment damage or failure, you may need to rectify the environmental conditions. Re-mediation of environmental conditions is the responsibility of the customer.

  • Non-redundant power supplies are not supported.

  • Non Dell qualified peripheral cards and/or peripheral cards are not supported.

  • Maximum altitude for the operating temperature must be 3050 m (10,000 ft).
